Here's an opportunity to say a few words about "The Gommock," if you're familiar with it and think it worthwhile reading.

Euphemie: We’re all from Cornwall, the Tregarthys. Yet I'm Australian. From the moment I looked over Father’s shoulder at the country we had sailed so long and so far to reach, I identified with Australia without any trouble at all. The smiling black people, the loose white sand, the sun, the trees with skinny hard leaves, and the fallen sticks and branches. And how did I get from age 4 in 1836 to the point where I can give instructions for making entries in my guest book? I can’t answer. Perhaps some fictional characters never die. Please help me be one of them.
